Interested in some beginner drift events in your local area? Pay attention

Most “drifters” think that drifting in the streets is cool. Real drifters look down on people that drift on the streets. First of all, its VERY VERY dangerous, second the roads weren’t built for some idiot rice-boy to slide his moms civic around. Another thing about drifting on the streets, it gives anybody who is into drifting/motorsports a bad rep, don’t be surprised if someone kicks your ass for trying to show off. If you want to be the real drift king, read this post, go to an event, have fun, and burn some tires up!

Some good sites that show the latest events in your area:

Bring:

  • tools
  • jack
  • tires ON wheels already that fit your car
  • extra fluids esp if your car is janky
  • helmet that will at least meet the expectations of your racing sanction
  • a car that will pass tech, closed toe shoes to be safe
  • your online registration printout and directions to the track if you don’t know where it is

I would say these are the bare minimum, unless you plan on sharing someones jack/tools etc
also good ideas, but not necessary:

  • sun screen/hat
  • cooler
  • jack stands
  • video, you can film other people and maybe in return they film you or something/camera
  • food
  • drill/zipties/tape battery charger etc
  • tie rods
  • anything that might easily break

Expect to bring atleast 2 extra pairs of wheels, and expect to change them most likely before you go home (depending on tire/tire size/camber/prssure/car).

Do NOT Bring:

  • Bad Attitude
  • Fear of looking stupid if you suck
  • Expectations of it being easy
  • Thinking your the shit, your not.

Just go to a damn event, check it out, do a couple of runs, learn, ask questions, get a good instructor to ride along with you.

Become Formula D star. Profit. (Can’t guarantee anything :) )
